Roy
Roy is a vibrant, lovely gelding who can't spend enough time with his Kanga and Cheyanne. He is devoted to their well-being and care, and has his eye on them at all times. He is all about being the devoted, passionately supportive leader of the herd. Roy will let you know when you need to step up and put yourself out there and be your own leader!​
Bugsy
Bugsy is a flashy elderly paint who loves to stir things up. He constantly reminds us to be our own unique selves. To strive to be the majestic design that we only can be. If you don't live up to the wonder you are, he will let you know, and won't give up until you pay attention! He is at peace when you are truly authentic!​

Cheyanne
Cheyanne is a strong and sensitive brown and white painted elderly mare. She has one blue and one brown eye. There are two sides to every story, and she challenges you to look the truth head on. She has known disappointment, loss, and tough times, and can sense when you have had the same. If you are honest, and truthful with yourself, she will silently stand by you, honoring and holding space.​
Kanga
Kanga is a beautiful brown and white painted mare. She is fearless, sensitive, loving, and caring. She has known struggle and will sense your suffering too. Despite her trials, she remains sweet, compassionate, and kind. No matter what her experiences have been, love is her answer and she will let you lean in and soak in her comfort! In her presence you will find peace.​
Dora & Diego
​Dora and Diego are young donkey's with spirit and zest for life. They are just such a joy to be around, like little children they love to play and have you join in. Despite their tough early beginnings they are just in love with life! All they want is to have you join them in some fun! Let go, be the little girl, the little boy, and be childlike again!
Whiskey
​Whiskey has seen it all. The good and the ugly and yet he remains calm and compassionate. There is no judgement, no resentment. He is open and willing and unbiased. He will always see the best in you, even when you have difficulty finding the best yourself. Trust when he comes to you that you belong, you are welcome here and he is happy to know you.
Shadow
​Shadow is our youngest. He is full of spirit and adventure. He plays and plays and plays. He can't get enough of hugs and kisses. If we all could embrace our shadow the way Shadow calls us to embrace him, then the world would be full of joy and abundance. Shadow is a beacon of all that is good within us, he calls us to bring forth all the parts we have left in the dark, to love them, cherish them and bring them to the Light.
Our Story
Jupiter Rising Equine Sanctuary is named after a mare, named Jupiter, that was mistreated by the people who were supposed to care for her. A rescue stepped in and bought her back from near death. Yet despite all the rescue's love and care, Jupiter passed away before reaching her forever home. JRES's mission is to honor all those horses who have dedicated their lives to humans and human needs, yet treated without the loving respect they deserve, with a place of life long sanctuary- a soft landing- so that they can rest and find peace. In return, they inevitably continue to gift humans with their loving, empowering energy.
